Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Lumpers to join our team at Primero Staffing. As a Lumper, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively unloading and loading freight from trucks, trailers, or other transportation vehicles. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and timely flow of goods in our operation. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Freight Handling: Safely and efficiently handle and move freight, including unloading and loading goods from trucks or other transport vehicles.
- Sorting and Organizing: Sort and organize freight or products according to predetermined guidelines, ensuring proper placement and storage within the facility.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by tracking incoming and outgoing shipments and communicating any discrepancies to the relevant personnel.
- Equipment Operation: Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks to facilitate the unloading and loading process, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, warehouse personnel, and delivery staff, to ensure the smooth handling and transfer of goods.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Efficiency: Work efficiently and proactively to meet deadlines and contribute to the overall productivity of the operation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in lumping, warehouse operations, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and operations is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safety procedures and guidelines within a warehouse setting.
